History

BURST! Media was founded in October 1995 by a group of experienced advertising and technology executives. Established when the e-commerce and Internet media phenomenon was just beginning, the company began by representing a group of approximately 50 Independent Websites. These Publishers – and the advertisers who find their audiences to be attractive targets – endure as the primary focus of the Burst Network, which currently encompasses more than 4,200 Websites.

  • BURST! Media is founded by advertising agency and technology professionals as one of the first ad networks

    1996

  • Forrester Research publishes its inaugural report on Internet advertising, and concludes that advertising networks will "dominate" ad sales; BURST! Media is identified as an early contender in the field

    1998

  • BURST! Media announces the addition of its 1,500th publisher

    1999

  • BURST! Media offers its first demographic survey to publisher sites

    2000

  • BURST! Media serves more than 1 billion impressions per month
