Account Executive (Los Angeles)

The Burst Network is largest facet of Burst Media, serving brand advertisers looking to deliver their message on the highest quality web sites. While utilizing the most refined targeting possible, we deliver a positive impression to the most passionate target audiences. Advertisers like Comcast, AT&T, P&G, Allstate, Microsoft, and Wal-Mart use the Burst Network to achieve their brand goals in a site-level transparent environment.


We are looking to add a dynamic Account Executive to our team in Los Angeles (2001 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica). The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in online media and significant agency contacts. Burst is seeking an energetic self-starter who is pro-active in driving revenue and increasing their client base. Candidate must be results driven and be committed to creating new business opportunities. Candidates will have working relationships with major ad agencies and the brands they represent.


Responsibilites:

  • Prospect, qualify and maintain an account list of advertisers and agencies in Los Angeles
  • Strategize with advertisers/agencies to demonstrate how Burst Network can meet marketing goals through vertical network sales, single site sponsorship opportunities and high composition programs
  • Build relationships at all levels, from client side brand managers to account executives and media buyers
  • Obtain monthly, quarterly and annual revenue quotas
  • Work with Burst Brand Solutions Team to develop custom proposals and presentations

Experience:

Technical Positions

Director, Creative Products and Services

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, with accountability to the Chief Marketing Officer for uses of all brand assets, we are looking for a Director of Creative Products and Services, to be located in either Burlington, Massachusetts or New York City. This role is responsible for building high quality creative products and proposals that benefit sales.


Specific Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CTO

  • Review the Company’s advertising products to ensure they offer timely, profitable and competitive solutions for sales. Help set priorities.
  • Oversee the design and development of proprietary advertising sales products that support a competitive sales advantage. Work closely with Sales to ensure sales and marketplace adoption.
  • Be a resource helping Sales solve more complex creative problems for advertisers.
  • Actively support the Company’s desire to be the leader in customer service by adhering to all standards and guidelines intended to assure quality and reliability.
  • As required, participate in industry events and meet customers.
  • Manage the department within agreed budget boundaries.
  • Create a positive, results-driven environment for employees in the department through proper coaching and mentoring. With Management and Human resources, clear pathways of success and opportunity within the organization for key contributors.

Reporting to the CMO

  • Advance the creative presentation of all brand assets and collateral, such as logos, brochures, annual reports and web sites which promote various aspects of the corporation, in order to reinforce the high value of the Company’s offering.

Department Expertise

  • Mock-ups: the creation of beautiful selling tools. You’ll be managing designers with the following knowledge, so familiarity with them is helpful in order to best direct workload: Photoshop, Illustrator, and PowerPoint.
  • Rich Media: ensuring that "beyond the banner" products and “custom proposals” work with AdConductor and can be billed. Familiarity with the following is helpful in order to manage designers and developers: HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Flash (Creative Suite 3), and JavaScript, Flash (ActionScript 3), JQuery, Burst adConductor, and PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails or equivalent.
  • New Ad Products: MacroStitials, Ad Servable Skins, etc., and the tools for anyone to create them. Familiarity with the following is helpful: Ability to create Wire Frames, User Experience Expertise, familiarity with templating, and an understanding of video delivery systems
  • Corporate Branding Part A: Brochures, logos and annual reports for the various corporate departments of Burst Media.

Additional Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in internet/digital advertising environment

Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a team member to develop Automation Scripts for applications using third party tools like QTP and a mix of manual and automated techniques. You will work on business requirements and design document Test Plans and Test Cases, execution and reports. Responsibilities include developing API Testers using SOAP, API, C#, .NET, Java, Groovy and version controls Perforce, SVN, VSS, and SQL Server Scripting, plus develop website development tools using CSS, HTML, DHTML. Be able to deploy test software to the QA environments and design test strategies, develop test tools and implement test cases to ensure deliverables. Work on installation and configuration of servers like QTP, Test Link, and work on backup and recovery of servers and regular patch updates and maintenance.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Comp Sci., Eng, Math, Phys, related field or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience (or 1 yr as a QA Analyst, Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst or related occupation)
  • One (1) year experience working with SOAP, API, C#, SVN, VSS, and SQL Server Scripting.

Operations

Advertising Network Specialist (Burlington)

Expectations are to become the single point of contact for clients during the lifetime of the campaign, and to work with the 3rd party Sales team to meet their campaign objectives with optimization, statistics and creative.

This position requires an avid interest in the Internet and familiarity with current web trends in the web design, security/privacy, and web communities.


Primary Duties Include:

  • Provide exceptional advertiser and publisher support to clients
  • Utilize software to set up, manage and optimize internet campaigns
  • Work with websites to ensure proper setup for ad serving, based on their preferences
  • Test and Post Creatives (gifs, jpegs, third party, iframes, flash, Eyeblaster, Pointroll, Unicast and other rich media)
  • Implement campaign changes to exceed client expectations
  • Manage creative problems and troubleshooting (links not working, animation showing properly, third party tracking issues, etc.)
  • Recruit publishers to join emerging ad networks
  • Inside sales: Prospect and arrange calls with potential clients to utilize adConductor services and technology to gain access to inventory available from participating networks powered by the adConductor Inventory Exchange.
  • Occasional local/overnight travel required for outside sales calls.
  • Provide financial support to customers as needed to reconcile campaigns, bill advertisers, pay publishers and report on monthly advertising revenue.
  • Train new customers on adConductor technology, user interfaces and applications.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally via e-mail and telephone.

Client Development Analysis/Trafficking Specialist (Burlington)

The Analysis and Trafficking Specialist will work hand in hand with the Campaign Management Specialist to ensure each campaign is successful and advertisers renew the business. Expectations are to work closely with customers on the campaign objectives and performance metrics. The Client Development Analysis/Trafficking Specialist also focuses on opportunities to improve the performance of campaigns throughout their flight and develop reporting to showcase improvements. Additional expectations include:

  • Reviewing and entering contract information into a database
  • Obtaining creative materials from advertisers
  • Scheduling and launching online advertising campaigns
  • Communicating with customers and Account Executives on campaign material needs and confirmation of launch
  • Analyze and monitor ongoing campaign performance
  • Maintaining and revising the campaigns at advertiser’s request
  • Strategizing with the Client Development Team to enhance performance of campaigns
  • Compiling post-campaign evaluations.

The Campaign Management Specialist will work hand in hand with the Client Development Analysis/ Trafficking Specialist to ensure each campaign is successful and advertisers renew the business. Publisher Services Associate (Burlington)

In the role of Publisher Services Associate, you will provide customer services to the over 6,000 sites represented by Burst Media. This includes heavy phone and email communication with potential and current publishers participating in Burst Network and Burst Direct. This position will maintain relationships both with our internal and external customers utilizing the ability to communicate effectively. This position will serve as a liaison between Sales and Publishers to implement creative sponsorships by understanding site capabilities and impression levels.

Primary Duties include:

  • Work with Burst Media’s Brand Solutions Team to implement and run sponsorship opportunities on Burst Media Publishers
  • Work with the Sales Department to determine areas of demand and develop messaging appropriate to those markets
  • Prospect for new publishers using cold calling techniques, lead sources and developing creative ways to target and contact potential Burst publishers
  • Troubleshoot problems, provide creative solutions
  • Cultivate relationships and provide outstanding customer service to existing and new publishers
  • Continually maintain working knowledge of all Burst offerings
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner

Qualifications:

Business Development Associate (Burlington)

Reporting to the Manager of Publisher Services, the Business Development Associate is primarily responsible for the identification and recruitment of web publishers, and to expand relationships with existing Burst Media publishers, in line with the goals of the Publisher Services Department. This role is responsible for increasing the number and quality of Burst Media publishers. This role will be involved in presentations, developing marketing collateral, and negotiating relationships with web publishers to establish business relationships, so dynamic presentation skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, attract, and contract with Web publishers through Burst membership process
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and expansion of advertising inventory in US
  • Prospect for new publishers using cold calling techniques, lead sources and developing creative ways to target and contact potential Burst publishers
  • Work with the Sales Departments to determine areas of demand and develop messaging appropriate to those markets
  • Assist in development of collateral materials for the recruitment of publishers
  • Able to work independently, use company reporting tools, and manage status update process

Medical Insurance - We offer coverage under an HMO plan or a PPO plan, with 3 tiers of coverage (single, single + 1, and family).

Dental Insurance - We offer coverage under 2 levels (with or without orthodontia), and is a 3 tiered plan (see above).

Vision Insurance - We offer coverage under a 3 tiered plan (see above) which covers exams, glasses and contact lenses.

Life Insurance - The basic benefit is equal to 1x your annual earnings. Additional employee, spousal and dependent coverage is available

Short/Long Term Disability Insurance - Short term disability coverage begins after a 14-day elimination period, providing coverage for up to 90 days. Long term disability, commencing after the 90 day elimination period, lasts to age 65.

401K Plan - You may contribute up to 90% of your pre-tax earnings into the plan; the company currently matches 50% of the first 4% of an employee’s contribution, under a 4 year vesting schedule.

Paid Time Off - Employees accrue 15 vacation days and 5 sick days per year, accruing an extra day of vacation with every year of employment.

Burst Opportunity Day - To support our employees in their community related activities, we offer eight (8) paid hours off per calendar year to devote to volunteer activities.
